Technical Information

This excellent culture medium is used to identify the main species of Enterobacteria, Vibros and Aeromonas, allowing the reading of 9 reactions in a single tube, as described below:

1- Bacteria motility indicated by the turbidity of lysine at the base.

2- Lysine decarboxylase.

3- Glucose fermentation in depth.

4- Sucrose fermentation on the middle surface.

5- Production of hydrogen sulphide (H₂S).

6- Production of gas in glucose.

7- Use of the amino acid L-tryptophan (deamination).

8- Urea hydrolysis.

9- Development of reddish color in the tube plug (cotton stopper), which indicates the formation of indole.

The great advantage of the Rugai RenyLab medium is that it presents a high degree of sharpness for the identification of the tests, promoting a better performance and safety for the interpretation of the results.

It has a cotton stopper made especially for the Indole exam, which also prevents early drying of the medium.
